Pre-existences and conditions

• existing attic floor with a non used flat roof
• client wish to extend the attic and to have a roof terrace

Concept and solution

• the idea is to cover all the roof space with a green surface that will include the extension and the garden
• to reduce the impact to the building the extension is recessed from the façades
• the hight is studied not to be seen from outside
• the surface has a double layer in order to accommodate thermal insulation and installations in the cavity
• a 3 dimensional triangular structure spread homogeneously the new loads over the existing slab
• the triangular structure also built the image of the project
