Pre-existences and conditions

• existing house to be enlarged with and extra room for the art student daughter
• new room to be used as bedroom and atelier with facilities

Concept and solution

• instead of enlarging the house, build an independent 'satellite' in the garden with separate entrance
• the pavilion is placed as the rocks on the existing japanese garden
• wooden structure constructed in a workshop and delivered to the site in 8 pieces and mounted in two days
• the shell is render with spayed polyurethane
• all openings are protected with a box-like frame to prevent direct light inside of the atelier
